The Journey to Certification (Week Thirteen)

This week I managed to finish “Share Data Through the Art of Visualization” course but which after completing it feels a bit lacking. I felt like the course only went into the basic concepts of visualization but didn’t offer much in terms of practical learning or depth. The course only did the bare minimum of teaching when came to using Tableau which surprised me. I thought visualization would play a bigger role but the course switched to teaching about public speaking. The content pertaining to how to give presentation were pretty good however and gave a lot of useful tips for how you should design your presentations. How you should design your slideshows, staying calm throughout the presentation, and handling questions are just few of the things I am glad this course went over. Overall, I was expecting better from this course after the strong start. The useful information on preparing presentations doesn’t overcame the fact that Tableau was skimmed over.

Also this week I managed to start “Data Analysis with R Programming” and managed to finished week 1. Week 1 was fairly simple and just was about introduction the concept of programming languages and R. Nothing to really write but I hope this course goes into more depth as programming languages aren’t as simple as Excel or data visualizations. This is one topic this certification can’t afford to skim over. Hopefully this course goes more into depth than the other courses.

Thanks for reading,
MalNich
