This week, I managed to finish the first section of the course which introduced the concept of data and how it is used. Since I already know the basics of data from doing my research, this section was a breeze for me. My first impression about the course is that it seems a little too standard. Videos, readings, and little quizzes are what the first week contained was but nothing that standouts from the standard online course structure. Surprising since this is from Google and they didn’t try to distinguish themselves from other online courses. Maybe they are saving the more distinguishing parts later in the course and are easing you into the course especially since this could be your first online course. But for right now, my impressions are this is looking at like a basic online course. Nothing really to write about this week since I was already familiar with all the topics of this section already. Hopefully next week I have more to write about.
