The Journey to Certification (Week Ten)

This week was difficult for me so far as I had to work through the toughest course so far in the program while working. “Analyze Data to Answer Questions” is the toughest course yet as it introduces a lot of difficult concepts. Advanced SQL concepts like joining tables, creating temporary tables, nested queries, and performing calculations. These are concepts that I am going to have to go over again as I don’t think I got down fully yet. These aren’t concepts that you can learn in one week especially in short bit-sized sections. Starting a personal project that uses these concepts will be better for ingraining them into my skillset. The Excel portion is still pretty easy considering how much I use and what I learned before starting this course. Mostly refresher which is fine by me since I still feel like I have a lot to learn with Excel. The next course “Share Data Through the Art of Visualization” which seems to be easier. While I think it will be easier that doesn’t mean I see it as less important. Communicating your findings is probably the most important skill an analyst can learn. Analyzing data is useless if no-one cares about your findings. This was a tough week but I learned a lot of valuable skills that will help in my journey/
